I am a native of Portland. This book provides great photographs and a historical perspective of an important landmark hotel. I did find a few errors in the section on famous guests that have stayed at the hotel. The book says Elvis Presley did not return to Portland after his 1957 performance at Civic Stadium, when he stayed at the hotel, but Elvis returned to Portland three more times: November 11, 1970, April 27, 1973 and November 26, 1976 and he performed at the Memorial Coliseum each time. Also, Heartbreak Hotel and Hound Dog were hits in 1956, not 1955 as the book infers.
