This book would be better if more of the B&B descriptions included websites for making reservations. We found it more convenient to use online websites rather than phone for same.

From the opulent Sibbet House in Edinburgh to the romantic Old Smiddy in the Highlands, bed and breakfasts in Scotland offer premier lodgings for every taste and budget. The vivid descriptions of Scottish establishments are complemented by detailed information on transportation, tourist boards, and attractions like Edinburghs' new Museum of Scotland and the popular Celtic Connections festival in Glasgow, which continues to draw more attendees each year. The nearly 200-year-old Sibbet House 'is one of the real gems of Edinburgh'. The bedrooms are immaculate and luxuriously decorated, and the entire house recalls a more elegant time when status, station, and heredity determined your past, present, and future. Old Smiddy near Gairloch reminds visitors of one of the main reasons they choose to stay in a bed and breakfast -- the food. In addition to candlelit dinners, the inn offers morning meals that may include porridge, sausage, black pudding, free-range eggs, or scrambled eggs with smoked salmon served on hot buttered toast topped with grilled tomatoes -- not to mention the home-made breads, scones, and oatcakes.
