I have just read "Al Capone's Italian Cookbook and decided to share my happiness with a proposed reader. The book is short but the recipes are really interesting. The book is written in the 20's or 30's, so it is not as detailed as today's recipes. Having said that, I just made "Eggs Romana" and loved the results following the recipe. I am planning on trying the Risotto with Ham for dinner.
The recipes are authentic (some using chicken livers and hearts, some using "brains", which I probably won't try in my kitchen).
The family photos, Capone quotes and family references on recipe favorites makes this an enjoyable book to have in my collection.
For price, ingenuity, and enjoyment, I rate this a "five star" purchase!
