Even though the prices were higher than listed (this was published over two years ago), the prices listed gave an accurate way to gauge comparative costs between establishments. Not only are restaurants rated, but hotels are also included. Our favorites were the small restaurant/hotels owned by chef/wife teams. We found some real gems that we would have ignored or never seen without this superb guide. Following this little gem added immensely to our enjoyment of Alsace. If you haven't been to Alsace; Go! And bring this guide!

(More customer reviews)There are thousands of restaurants in Paris. They're everywhere, and sometimes the really good ones are hidden down a tiny side street. Choosing one out of the multitude is a daunting task--one made tractable by this guide.
We found all of the reviews to be extremely accurate. They rate not only the food, but also the atmosphere of the several hundred restaurants in the book, so choosing one that fits you is very easy. We also used it as a map book--they were the best maps of Paris that we encountered on our trip.
Note that it's not just the starred restaurants that make it into this book--we found a wonderful little Basque place that was extremely informal and welcoming, and the polar opposite of haute cuisine.
We will be buying the appropriate Michelin guide for all of our future trips.
If you enjoy food, you need to buy this book.

(More customer reviews)If you are spending more than a few days in London to "see the sights", then you must have this book. All other tour guides to London are superficial in their coverage of the major museums and tourist sights. This book offers the details the others lack, with well written descriptions of the collections of the major museums including their highlights. The strength of this book is when you want to know more about a particular museum or sight than where it is and when it is open; it is actually most useful when you are in the particular sight. This book does NOT cover hotels, restaurants, etc.; for that information, try any of the other guide books on the market.
