On the eve of her 20th birthday, lovely Julie Wilson is kidnapped as she exits a Fullerton, Texas fitness center and is walking toward her car. She is taken to the Ouachita National Forest in Western Arkansas by her abductors. There in the midst of two million acres of virgin forests, stands a tiny, one-room structure built by her captors, brothers Sam and Richard Baker, for the purpose of hiding and holding Julie until her father pays them a ransom demand of $5 million. It soon becomes apparent to Julie that her jailor, Sam Baker, is mentally unbalanced and is becoming obsessed with her. Believing that he plans to soon take both her virginity and her life, Julie decides she must make an unlikely attempt to escape.Refusing to let what appears to be impossible odds stop her, she succeeds in escaping from what her jailor told her was an escape-proof structure. However, rather than winning her safety, her escape puts Julie in even greater danger. Becoming lost in the seemingly unending forest and now severely dehydrated, she is relentlessly pursued by both the mentally disturbed Baker and a huge and hungry mountain lion. Experiencing great pain from injuries she suffered during her escape, Julie is forced to stop and rest. As she sits on the ground with her back resting against the trunk of a tree, she wonders if she might die of thirst before Baker or the mountain lion catch up to her.He is currently busy writing his second novel. It should be ready for publication in early 2009.
