Mr. Ismail and one of his contributers, Mr. Sweetland both are dead on target with their advice and I recommend this book to anyone who is even thinking of getting into the Hospitality Business. This book is to be required reading for anyone aspiring to management in my hotel from this day forward. If you are considering purchacing a franchise, this is a must read!

(More customer reviews)Karen Brown books are essential to all my trips to Italy. I have made 4 different trips from the North to the South and to Sicily. I am
grateful to her because we have stayed in some amazing places that were recommended in her books. Its VERY unlikely I would have ever found these, often unique, charming inns and hotels without her books. A few caveats are; the place/Inn/Hotel etc. may have gotten a little 'shop worn' since the original Karen Brown visit a few years prior and the owners may be less charming to you than someone there to review them and give them a 'stamp of approval' and put them in a very high profile travel book. I might suggest that Karen Brown
or staff re-review these places more frequently and do so anonymously. While I give her books very high marks there were a couple un-
pleasant surprises. Oh well, travel is never 'fool proof' and I still give her books a 95%!

Lyle and Grace Guslander built their hotel empire fromwhat started out as a 24-room hotel with five employees,that everyone on the island of Kauai had bet would gounder, especially when they heard that a pretty, blondehaole from Pennsylvania had arrived on the island tomanage it. Previously, all of the former operators of theCoco Palm Lodge had failed miserably.Within a year, Grace Buscher (as she was known in thefifties) had created one of the most famous destinationsin the world by incorporating the host culture she hadlearned from her Hawaiian friends and fusing it with herown unique creativity and vision. The thing that struck me in reviewing the book was that the recommendations were based as much on the hotel rooms as the hoteliers. And sure enough, we feel like we made friends with the proprietors of each hotel we used. This book is great for both the budget traveller and for people who can afford to spend more; but who are interested in an eclectic european experience.

Their gender battle hides the attraction each feels for the other as neither wants to explore their lustful thoughts as each assumes it is one sided and fears giving an edge to their adversary.
However, Melanie reconsiders her strategy when she realizes that Robert actually wants her. She decides to try honey instead of vinegar; red hot pepper instead of cold cucumber. However, she wants only a one time fling as she vowed to never have any permanent commitment with a male since her first marriage as a teen was rotten and he has secrets that make him agree. So why do this pair keep wanting more dessert?
Readers will like it hot with this delicious Hotel Marchand contemporary romance. Melanie and Robert are a fiery passionate pair who love preparing mouth watering meals almost as much as they love one another. Fans will enjoy this gender war in the kitchen that is resolved in the bedroom.
